Construction Carbon Credit

CO2 Has no Boundaries

There is nothing on planet earth that does not get affected by the action of animals and mankind. However small these effects are, the accumulation will have an adverse effect.

All materials used in construction has a CO2 footprint, extraction, processing, shipping, packaging, storage, etc. The use of dirty energy during the process and our inability to control the same in other countries makes a global problem.

The only solution is carbon tax for polluters, carbon tax credits for green builders who implement remedies such a Triple C or others.

“The current building systems worldwide are not sustainable especially with a growing population.”

The construction methods and ideology have changed very little in the last 100 years. The most notable increase is height, and some improvement in R values.

• We use too many finite resources, with a relatively short lifespan: steel, copper, wood, concrete.

• We transport raw material for distances creating unnecessary CO2.

• We do not insulate the building properly.

• We do not recycle enough.

Contribution to the Reduction of CO2

The ideas and patents will each contribute to the reduction of CO2, which will lead to much more energy efficient buildings than any conventional practices currently in place.

1. EH Titan electric dump truck (B-Train)

2. In Situ Hollow Core structure with fiberglass rebar

3. Triple glazed windows integrated with solar panels

4. Balcony solar panels in Lieu of regular glass

5. Electrical heat pumps for heating and cooling

6. Roof solar panels with the IBS System

7. Drone airport for parcel delivery on the roof

8. GES – Gravity Electrical Storage

9. Fixed Swing Stage

10. Water recycle system

11. Food recycle system

12. Underground space for growing vegetables

13. Garage entrance water jets

14. Heated sidewalks to eliminate use of salt

“Make use of the latest technology concepts and patents to achieve the best Green Building, self-sufficiency at affordable cost (comparable to regular high-rise).”

Benefits

  • Unify builder, provide access to new building ideas, cost, reduction, and sustainability, R&D carbon credits.
  • Lobby for changes to the bylaws in order to streamline deliveries of material and allow work at night. (With electric excavation equipment and electric dump trucks).
  • Lobby industry to build custom equipment better suited for each task, of the construction industry.
  • Lobby for umbrella R&D funds for new buildings.

By implementing all the concepts mentioned, all participants (developers, builders, project management, owners, and traders) will benefit.

By obtaining federal government recognition all participants will be eligible for R&D funds and claim carbon credits.

Self-Sufficient Building

Average energy consumption for a 900.000 square foot building:1.125 units x 6.400 kwh per year = total 7.200.000 kwh.

Assuming each condo has 18 square meters of exposed glass which produces 4kwh per hour x 1.600 hours = 6.400 kwh per year.

1.000 square meters of solar panels on the roof would produce 225 kwh/h per hour x 1.600 hours = 360.000 kwh.

Combining solar roof, solar window, the buildings we can produce up to 7.560.000 kwh per year.

The building will be self-sufficient.

Self-Sufficient Data

Consequences of Waste

  • If we divert 100 metric tons of food waste from the landfill, the true benefits to society and the environment ($17.000)? Unfunded clean up true cost is hundreds of thousands.
  • Assume 250 km round trip one ton will produce 70kg of CO2 from curb to dump site.
  • 100 tons would produce 700 kg of CO2.
  • While in the landfill, it will produce up to 9.000m3 of methane equal to 5 tons.
  • Methane is up to 60 times more potent than CO2 for the first 15 years, potentially equal to 300 tons of CO2 (equivalent of driving a gasoline car for 60 years).
  • Loss of nutrient, as they end up in the water, which promotes algae growth and water acidification, killing marine life.
  • Road damage caused by truck.

The reason society has reached this point, we don’t assess the full cycle of the trash, cradle to grave. We account for labor, capital investment, energy cost, plus profit ($170 per ton) we ignore the rest. Leaching toxins, methane, is a burden left for the next 5 generations. Sustainable green method cannot compete with the ignored cost of cleanup. The accumulation of all above will cost us 100 times over the initial savings through health, water quality, air quality. All the harm to our health and our planet is ignored.

With the companies that join the group, we will create a carbon credit program for the construction industry.

  • Bulk approval for R & D money. Each participant will file for R & D separately under the (bulk approval) for expediency.
  • Government benefits long term. Better health of the population, green jobs, meet the Chiodo accord by reducing CO2.
  • Lobby for special approval M.Z.O minister zoning order (cost saving).
  • Lobby for 0 lot levies, 0 building permit fees, 0 parkland.
  • Lobby for legislation to allow night work, if noise is under 75 decibel.
